The launch of the Southern European Chair on Data Governance took place on 24th June and was streamed on Youtube.

This is a partnership between Google and Universities from Spain (Universidad CEU San Pablo, Madrid), Italy (Università RomaTre), Portugal (Universidade NOVA de Lisboa) and Greece (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). The Chair focused on scientific reflection and research in the academic field on data governance, in the context of the European countries. In addition, it served as a framework to analyze the challenges for Law and Data Governance in the European sphere, in areas such as Big Data, Data Driven Innovation, Artificial Intelligence or International Personal Data flows.

The members of the Board were the following: José Luis Piñar (Universidad CEU San Pablo, Madrid), Maria da Graça Canto Moniz (Universidade NOVA de Lisboa), Georgios Yannopoulos (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) amd Vincenzo Zeno-Zencovich (Università RomaTre).
