scholar with a broad academic and professional background in law and technology. She holds a law degree, a postgraduate diploma in medical law, and both a master\u2019s and doctoral degree in legal and political sciences from the University of Coimbra. She is currently a Full Professor of Law and Technology and serves as Vice-Dean at NOVA School of Law, NOVA University Lisbon.<\/p><p>Vera has taught at various institutions, including the University of Macau, the University of Coimbra, and Agostinho Neto University in Angola, as well as taking on postgraduate supervisory roles at the University of Hong Kong and guest lecturing at the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan.<br \/>Vera is actively involved in the European Association of Health Law and serves as a Governor of the World Association for Medical Law. In 2024, she was named a fellow of the prestigious Hastings Centre.<\/p><p>She is also on the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Health Law and contributes as a peer reviewer for several scientific journals.
