present in the way we operate as an institution, <strong>with a strong commitment to sustainable practices.<\/strong><\/p><p>Joining the <strong>United Nations Global Compact<\/strong> in February 2021 is an important step in reaffirming our priorities for engagement with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p><p><a data-id=\"10866c7a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>At NOVA School of Law, <strong>we are committed to contribute to sustainability and the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals through our teaching and research activities which strive to promote inclusive and equitable quality education (SDG 4)<\/strong>. Particular emphasis is placed on areas such as human rights and fundamental rights &#8211; which have been recognized as core to sustainable development &#8211; labour rights and decent work (SDG 8) \u2013 the protection of oceans (SDG 14) as well as the environment (SDG 15) and the fight against climate change (SDG 13), equality and non-discrimination (SDGs 5 and 10), responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) and the promotion of peace, justice and strong institutions (SDG 16).<\/p><p>Our research activities are also supported by the various <a href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/en\/knowledge-centres\/\">Knowledge Centres<\/a> that we have created in order to provide and disseminate impactful research contributing to all three dimensions of sustainable development: the social, the economic and the environmental dimensions.<\/p><p><strong>In addition, we strive to walk the talk by embedding sustainability through our own practices and daily life<\/strong>.
