href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/en\/abreu-chair-in-esg-impact\/\">Abreu Chair in ESG Impact, Climate and Energy Law<\/a>, coordinator of <a href=\"https:\/\/greenlab.novalaw.unl.pt\/\">NOVA Green Lab<\/a>, and coordinator of the <a href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/en\/master-in-law-specialization-in-international-and-european-law\/\">Master&rsquo;s in International and European Law<\/a> at NOVA School of Law. She is also a Part-time Professor at the European University Institute and a member of the policy expert group of the Florence School of Regulation, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies. She holds a PhD in European Law from the European University Institute, an LL.M in Comparative, European and International Law from the same institute, a master&rsquo;s degree in law and development from FGV S&atilde;o Paulo, and a Law Degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lucila has taken on the role of principal investigator or task leader in several externally funded research projects by prestigious institutions, including the European Commission (2025, <em>Study on Consumer rights and protection in innovative energy services<\/em>), Horizon Europe (2024-2028, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eui.eu\/research-hub?id=u2demo-use-of-open-source-p2p-energy-sharing-platforms-for-energy-democratization-1\">U2Demo<\/a> &#8211; Use of open-source P2P energy sharing platforms for energy democratisation<\/em>), the International Energy Agency (2019-2025, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/userstcp.org\/global-observatory-on-peer-to-peer-trading-task\/\">UserTCP<\/a> Global Observatory on P2P, Community Self-consumption, and Transactive Energy Models<\/em>) and AICEP (2023-2024, <em>Forma&ccedil;&atilde;o <a href=\"https:\/\/greenlab.novalaw.unl.pt\/projects\/conferencia-esg-para-pme-exportadoras-sensibilizacao-e-capacitacao\/\">ESG para PMEs em Portugal<\/a>: De A &agrave; Z do relato de sustentabilidade)<\/em>, in addition to many other projects she has been involved in as an associate researcher, such as ERC-Advanced Grant (2011-2016, European Regulatory Private Law) and Finnish Distinguished Professor by Academy of Finland (2016-2020, <em>External Dimension of European Regulatory Private Law<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Lucila is a member of the editorial boards of international journals, serving as Associate Editor of Competition and Regulation in Network Industries (Sage Publishing) and editor of Energy Research &amp; Social Science (Elsevier). Her work to date has resulted in numerous publications in international journals such as Yearbook of European Law and Yearbook of International Environmental Law (Oxford Journal), Transnational Environmental Law (Cambridge Journal), Energy Policy (Elsevier), RECIEL (Wiley), and books published with Hart Publishing, Edward Elgar and Springer.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining the faculty at NOVA, Lucila has been an Assistant Professor at Wageningen University &amp; Research (2020-2022), a visiting professor at FGV-Rio (2025) and Universit&agrave; Degli Studi di Padova (2019), Edmond J.
