Portugal<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/u><\/b><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Montserrat; color: black;\">\u00a0in the framework of the research project \u201c<b>Effective implementation of the Knowledge and Competence requirements imposed by the Mortgage Credit Directive\u201d,<\/b>\u00a0developed by Professor <\/span><b><u><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Montserrat; color: #f8002d;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/joana-farrajota\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #f8002d;\">Joana Farrajota<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/u><\/b><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Montserrat; color: black;\">\u00a0within the new <\/span><b><u><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Montserrat; color: #f8002d;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/en\/cedis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #f8002d;\">CEDIS Knowledge Centre<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/u><\/b><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Montserrat; color: black;\">, <\/span><b><u><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Montserrat; color: #f8002d;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/sessao-de-apresentacao-do-centro-de-conhecimento-nova-financial-markets\/\"><span style=\"color: #f8002d;\">NOVA Financial Markets.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p><p class=\"elementtoproof\" style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Montserrat; color: black;\">The project focuses on assessing the <b>effectiveness of the implementation of the Knowledge and Competence (K&amp;C)<\/b>\u00a0requirements arising from the mortgage credit dirctive, by analysing the level of knowledge and competence of banks&#8217; employees in three Member States \u2013 Portugal, Germany, and Italy.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"elementtoproof\" style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Montserrat; color: black;\">The main objective is to present a proposal with <b>a set of guidelines to ensure effective and adequate implementation and compliance of K&amp;C requirements<\/b>\u00a0amongst bank employees, while contributing to consumer protection and financial literacy.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Montserrat; color: black;\">The results of the research will be presented at a <b>final conference<\/b>.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"elementtoproof\" style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Montserrat; color: black;\">This protocol continues <b>NOVA School of Law\u2019s commitment to financial literacy,<\/b>\u00a0which is in line with our mission
