congratulate <strong>\u00cdsis Santiago do Outeiro Martins<\/strong> and <strong>Carolina dos Santos Barbosa<\/strong>, who have been awarded the <strong>Santander Foundation Prizes<\/strong>, which aim to recognise the academic merit of our first-year students in the <a href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/en\/bachelors-in-law\/\">Law Degree<\/a> and the <a data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Another big winner was doctoral student <strong>Diogo Costa Seixas<\/strong>, who was awarded the <strong>Professor Carlos Ferreira de Almeida Prize<\/strong>, created by Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/en\/maria-helena-brito\/\">Maria Helena Brito<\/a> and the NOVA School of Law.<\/p><p>In accordance with the late Professor&#8217;s wishes, whose teaching influenced generations of students and gave a decisive impulse to the completion of Doctorates in Law, especially in Private Law, the prize honours the best student in the teaching phase of the <a href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/en\/phd-in-law\/\">PhD in Law,<\/a>\u00a0in the area of Private Pouseiro<\/strong>, winner of the <strong>Professor Paula Escarameia Prize<\/strong>, which aims to recognise and reward work in the field of international law.<\/p><p>The prize, which is awarded every two years, was created by NOVA School of Law on the basis of the legacy of the Professor, an eminent Portuguese international jurist who, among other important positions, served as a member of the United Nations International Law Commission between 2002 and 2010, a period during which she collaborated intensively with NOVA School of Law as a lecturer and
