call for applications for the fourth edition of the Fulbright Award in Law and Sustainability | NOVA School of Law<\/b>, under the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fulbright.pt\/fulbright-u-s-scholar-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program<\/b><\/a>.<\/p><p>This grant, awarded in\u00a0the context of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/en\/nova-school-of-law-signs-an-unprecedented-protocol-with-the-fulbright-commission\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">protocol signed with the Fulbright Commission<\/a>, is targeted at\u00a0<b>US professors and researchers\u00a0<\/b>that wish to<b>\u00a0spend one academic semester at NOVA School of Law carrying out teaching and research activities within the topic of Law and Sustainability.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-49e2d19 elementor-widget elementor-widget-ekit_wb_28992\" data-id=\"49e2d19\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"ekit_wb_28992.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h3 class=\"normal-titleh3 preto regular-text\">Award Details<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d80c84 elementor-widget length of the award\u00a0will be\u00a0<b>4 months<\/b> and the starting dates are flexible, although the preferred starting month is <strong>September 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-feb25e5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"feb25e5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests match one or several of NOVA School of Law\u2019s strategic priorities which are as follows:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The role of law in promoting the three pillars of sustainability: social, environmental and economic (the research interests of the candidates may focus on only one of these pillars or several);<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions;<\/li>\n<li>Law, Innovation and Digitalization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>These three strategic priorities may include a range of topics covering the following SDGs:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peace, Justice and security (SDG 16);<\/li>\n<li>Human rights in the digital age\/ cybersecurity (SDG 9, 16);<\/li>\n<li>Decent work, responsible Business Conduct (SDG 8);<\/li>\n<li>Law and blue economy: the ocean (SDG 12, 13, 14);<\/li>\n<li>Law and green economy: energy (SDG 7, 12, 15);<\/li>\n<li>Alternative dispute resolution in the digital age (SDG 16);<\/li>\n<li>Right to sustainable and smart cities (SDG 11, 12);<\/li>\n<li>Regulation, policymaking and the digital transformation (SDGs 9, 16);<\/li>\n<li>Green taxation, social solidarity and public policies (SDG 1, 8);<\/li>\n<li>Human rights, access to justice and the rule of law (SDG 16);<\/li>\n<li>Sustainability and digitalization of financial markets (SDG 1, 8, 12);<\/li>\n<li>Compliance, enforcement and ESG (SDG 16);<\/li>\n<li>Data science, Artificial Intelligence and empirical legal studies (SDG 9, 16);<\/li>\n<li>Institutional governance and reform (SDG 16);<\/li>\n<li>Law, health and well-being (SDG 3).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f1991a9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f1991a9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Ideally, the research interests of the recipient of the award should also match the activities carried by any one of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/novalaw.unl.pt\/en\/knowledge-centres\/\"><strong>knowledge\u00a0centers of NOVA School of Law\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d7f3663 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d7f3663\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Only applications in the following disciplines will be considered:\u00a0<b>Law, Economics, Environmental Sciences, History,\u00a0<\/b><b>Information Sciences\/Systems, International Relations, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Public Health<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Sociology<\/b>.<\/p><p><b>There is special interest in scholars with a legal background<\/b>\u00a0or, for those with no legal background, those with an interest in inter, multi or cross disciplinary research involving legal systems.<\/p><p>There is particular interest in scholars who, in their respective fields,\u00a0<b>carry out research which is focused on meeting at least one of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/sustainable-development-goals\/\">UN\u2019s Sustainable Development Goals<\/a><\/b>, aimed at ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for everyone by 2030.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1173b40 elementor-widget
