Bernardo Ivo Cruz joins NOVA School of Law

Following our commitment to strengthening our team of teaching staff with the best and most talented professionals, we are pleased to welcome Bernardo Ivo Cruz, who joins NOVA School of Law to teach Law & Sustainability on the Bachelor’s in Law.

Bernardo Ivo Cruz holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Bristol and is an alumnus of the Prince of Wales’s Business and Sustainability Programme at the Institute of Sustainability and Leadership at the University of Cambridge, UK. He is also a Corresponding Academician of the International Academy of Portuguese Culture.

He has been a lecturer and researcher at the Universities of Bristol, Cardiff and Loughborough, President of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK, Coordinator of the Club de Madrid’s mission to support national reconciliation in East Timor and Director of AICEP in the UK and Ireland and in Latin America.

He was Secretary of State for Internationalisation in the XXIII Constitutional Government, Assistant Secretary of State to the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs in the XVII Constitutional Government and Honorary Consul of Botswana in Portugal.

He has lived and worked in Belgium, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Portugal and East Timor.
