Rita Vieira Marques

Rita Vieira Marques is currently a PhD candidate at NOVA School of Law, pursuing research on European banking regulation. Last academic year, she was a visiting lecturer at NOVA School of Law.
She is a member of the NOVA Financial Markets knowledge center, where she coordinates the QR Code Project, which aims to disseminate essential banking information on public transportation and other public spaces. She is also a member and scientific coordinator of the NOVA Platform for European Administrative and Regulatory law – NOVA PEARL, which focuses on the study of Regulatory Administrative Law.
Rita holds a degree in law from NOVA School of Law (2010) and a master in law and management from the Lisbon School of Business and the Lisbon School of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal (2014).
Previously, Rita worked at the law firm Uría Menéndez for nearly 12 years, specializing in commercial, corporate, and civil litigation, restructuring, and insolvency, providing advice both in the pre-litigation and litigation stages of various disputes. During this period, Rita also advised on administrative offense proceedings before regulatory bodies in the banking, insurance, and securities sectors.
