BioMed-AI Summer School
From 11 to 13 September
NOVA School of Law, with whatnext.law, is partnering with the Biomedical Research Foundation Academy of Athens for the second edition of the Biomed-AI Summer School, which this year will take place in Lisbon on 11, 12 and 13 September.
This partnership is about to bridge the realms of Biomedicine, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence while upholding the principles of ethical conduct and responsible innovation.
As we navigate the landscape of AI applications in medicine and healthcare, we recognize the immense potential they hold for revolutionizing personalized medicine. However, with great innovation comes great responsibility. It’s crucial that we tread carefully, mindful of the ethical, legal, and social implications inherent in the advancement of AI in these critical fields.
The Biomed-AI Summer School is an international initiative fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together academics and professionals from various fields, such as law, medicine, biomedical sciences, technology and ethics. The conference features speakers from a variety of backgrounds, including the European Parliament, the EHDS and European and North American academia, adding valuable perspectives to the various presentations.
The event is endorsed by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the European Public Law Organisation and BBMRI-ERIC, underlining the global importance of efforts.
