José Lebre de Freitas is Professor Emeritus at NOVA School of Law.
Graduated in 1962, he did his Master’s degree in 1982. He obtained his PhD in 1991 at Lisbon University Faculty of Law in Civil Procedural Law, with the thesis “A Confissão no Direito Probatório” (Confession in Probationary Law). He joined the NOVA School of Law in 2002.
Since 1965, he has been practising in law.
He has taught since 1975, first at FDL and since 2001 at NOVA School of Law, as well as in some private universities. He was an Assistant and Assistant Professor at the FDL and a Full Professor at the NOVA School of Law, where he still teaches the PhD course.
