Biographical Note | Pedagogical Experience

Franco Ferrari is a professor of law and the Executive Director of the Center for Transnational Litigation, Arbitration, and Commercial Law at New York University School of Law. A New York University full-time faculty member since 2010, Professor Ferrari, who previously taught as full professor at Tilburg University in the Netherlands, as well as Bologna University and Verona University in Italy, teaches courses in, and has published more than 350 papers, book chapters and encyclopedia entries on, conflict of laws, forum shopping, international commercial arbitration, and international business transactions.

Professor Ferrari, a former Legal Officer at the UN Office of Legal Affairs, International Trade Law Division (2000-2002), is also an active international arbitrator in international commercial and investment disputes. He also is a member of the editorial board of various peer reviewed European law journals, the co-editor of the Encyclopedia of Private international Law published in 2017, and the former General Editor of the European International Arbitration Review.
