Maria de Lurdes Pereira has been an assistant professor at NOVA School of Law, since September 2024.
She holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate in Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon, and has been teaching there since 1993, successively as a trainee assistant, assistant and assistant professor (in this category from 2013 to 2024), as well as a researcher at the Private Law Research Centre.
She has taught, among others, the law of obligations, commercial law, contract law and general theory of civil law.
She is also a lawyer, legal advisor and arbitrator.
Within civil law, her preferred areas of research are civil liability, general theory of obligations and contract law. She is the author of several publications, including the following monographs: “Conceito de prestação e destino da contraprestação”, 2001, “A indemnização de despesas inutilizadas na responsabilidade obrigacional,” 2020, e “Direito da responsabilidade civil. A obrigação de indemnizar,” 2021.
