- 6 de November de 2025
We are delighted to welcome Professor Robin Fretwell Wilson, who joins the NOVA School of Law faculty as Distinguished Visiting Professor. Professor Wilson is returning to our academic community after having collaborated with us in the 2024/2025 academic year through the Fulbright Grant in Law and Sustainability.
During that period, Professor Fretwell Wilson taught the courses Constitutional Justice and Legal English at NOVA School of Law, making a significant contribution to enhancing the international and interdisciplinary dimensions of teaching at our institution.
Professor Wilson is internationally recognised for her research in Family Law, Religious Freedom, Bioethics, and Public Policy, and she brings with her a valuable comparative perspective. This aligns perfectly with NOVA School of Law’s mission to be at the forefront of a globally engaged legal education, committed to addressing the great challenges of our time.
Her full integration into the faculty represents a significant step forward in reinforcing the academic excellence, internationalisation, and interdisciplinarity that form part of the DNA of NOVA School of Law.
The Professor has signed a three-year contract with NOVA School of Law, with effect from September 2025.
About Robin Fretwell Wilson

These include reconciling LGBT rights with the protection of religious beliefs and practices, as exemplified by the Respect for Marriage Act of 2022, considered as the most significant piece of LGBT legislation in the United States in the past decade.
