My Data is Mine Award - Best Paper Award

The European organisation Euroconsumers, through the Consumer Empowerment Project (CEP), has launched the 4th edition of the «My Data is Mine» award, which will be awarded to the best paper written by young scholars with an innovative approach to data protection issues and who can offer a visionary contribution to data exploitation in Europe and worldwide.
This fourth edition aims to recognize outstanding research in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data protection. The award is focused on innovative solutions, from both a regulatory and a technical perspective, that address the challenges of preserving privacy and security of personal data while still enabling the full potential of AI.
This year, Euroconsumers has created a specific prize for the best article written by students from NOVA School of Law.
What are the conditions for participation?
- Participants must be students of NOVA School of Law (LL.M., M.A., Ph.D.), up to 35 years old
- Papers must address any topic related to Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection, must be written in English and must be between five thousand and eight thousand words long.
Papers should be sent to hello@cep-project.org by September 30, 2023.
The winner will be awarded with a prize of 1.000 euros and will have the chance to present their paper during the ceremony of Web Summit, which will be held in Lisbon, and/or to participate in the third edition of the Consumer Leadership Academy at NOVA School of Law, in November.
The paper will also be published in the Data Protection Yearbook 2023.
