Rui Branco is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Studies, NOVA University Lisbon, and a senior researcher at IPRI/NOVA.
His research focuses on the construction of the Portuguese state, and on comparative social, health and labour market regimes and policies.
He has edited special issues and published in journals such as Journal of Comparative Politics, Journal of Social Policy, New Political Economy, Social Policy & Administration, South European Society and Politics, Pôle Sud and European Journal of Social Security. He has contributed chapters in books published by Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Cornell University Press, Notre Dame University Press, Almedina, Livros Horizonte, among others. Recently he has published the book “Protecção Social no Portugal Democrático. Trajetórias de Reforma“.
