The Jean Monet Module on European Banking Law (EU_Bank)
The primary aim of the EU_Bank Module is to generate and share impactful knowledge on critical issues within the EU banking market while promoting financial literacy among students, researchers and the general public.
The past 17 years have exposed critical vulnerabilities and shortcomings in financial markets, particularly in the EU banking sector. The 2007/8 financial crisis had the benefit to bring to light the need for more robust regulatory frameworks, while subsequent events like the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine further highlighted the fragility and vulnerability of consumers, largely driven by insufficient levels of financial literacy.
